Get Rid Of Scuff Marks: Summer Cleaning Series

It's hard to stop the excitement of summer once it has begun. There is a fresh energy in the air that is absolutely infectious. This wonderfully mysterious energy gives everyone in the family a new drive that overwhelms them with motivation. Well, it does on some days, anyway.

When those particularly energetic days do occur, the benefactor of that energy seems to feel it's easier to stay on-the-go. This, of course, means running around like mad and leaving unsightly scuff marks on the floor.

Getting the blackened remains of what was once on the bottom of your shoe isn't difficult, but it does require some extra attention. Here are a few ways you can clean it up:

Laminate/Tile Floors

1. Dampen a microfiber cloth with a bit of nail polish remover and rub it over the scuff mark until it is gone. When you're done with that you can finish the job by drying the spot with a new cloth.

Wood Floors

1. Clean the area with a dampened microfiber cloth. Then, taking a new rubber eraser, go over the scuff marks gently until they vanish.

2. Go grab the cleanest tennis shoe you own and stick your hand in it. Yep, you heard us right. From there rub the bottom of the shoe over the scuff mark and you'll see it begin to disappear.

3. The last option for your wood floors is to find a tennis ball and rub it over the scuff mark. It's almost too easy!
